Kirk Brillon

Kirk Brillon

Technical Director and Signature Events Coordinator

Kirk Brillon is a Kincardine-based artist who likes to throw paint on a canvas and see what emerges. Often starting with a drop of ink or a loose wash of colour, his work reveals itself through experimentation and discovery. Drawn to the darker side of storytelling, his paintings explore monsters, superheroes, humanity, and the vastness of the universe. Every piece is a small act of curiosity, guided by instinct, narrative, and a love of the unexpected.

Originally from Calgary, Kirk spent time living and working in New York and Toronto before relocating to Kincardine in 2023. Alongside his fine art practice, he is an Emmy Award–winning visual effects supervisor for film and television, with credits including Game of Thrones, The Borgias, Midnight Mass, and Jupiter’s Legacy. Under the pseudonym Tyson Draws Stuff, he has published two art books and developed an eclectic body of work that blends technical skill with playful, intuitive mark-making.

Working primarily in watercolour and ink, with occasional dives into acrylic and pastel, Kirk embraces mess, chaos, and learning as essential parts of the creative process. Through his art, he aims to explore the unexpected, tell a compelling story, and keep discovering what happens when he lets the paint lead.
