Opening Party & Round Robin Community Art Event

Start the Crawl with friends, drinks, and a room full of evolving artwork. With multiple canvases in play, participants rotate from piece to piece, adding, layering, and transforming each one before returning to their original canvas to complete it. No experience needed, just jump in and be part of the process.

Be there as the 2026 Kincardine Art Crawl officially begins!

At 6 p.m., participating downtown businesses will reveal this year's Wandering Windows exhibition, transforming storefronts into a gallery of original artwork. Join artists, business owners, and fellow art lovers as we celebrate the opening of the weekend and take the first walk through the exhibition together.

The Wandering Windows exhibition remains on display throughout the Art Crawl, inviting visitors to discover art around every corner in downtown Kincardine.

After the reveal, continue the celebration at the Opening Party & Round Robin Community Art Event at Grey Matter Beer Company. The party begins at 7 p.m.

Threads of Connection is a collaborative weaving installation created from reclaimed fabrics, ribbons, and textiles, growing throughout the Kincardine Art Crawl with contributions from the community. Participants are invited to weave, tie, and knot materials into a shared tapestry while reflecting on prompts about connection, sustainability, memory, and belonging.

Created from reclaimed materials and community stories, the installation highlights how small individual contributions can come together to create something meaningful.

Visit the Victoria Park Gallery and meet members of the gallery while exploring a variety of live art demonstrations throughout the day. Watch Anke Dirks-Wehrmann demonstrate pottery techniques, Wendy Behenna share fabric arts, and Dianne Graham showcase her watercolour process. It's a great opportunity to learn about different artistic mediums, ask questions, and connect with local artists.

Along the way, enjoy a guided tasting featuring two 6 oz beer samples. Then it's your turn to get creative. One winning recipe will be brewed on our pilot system and served as a Thursday Night Lab Beer!

Splish Splash Fish! - Youth Painting Workshop

Ages 7 to 12 Cost: $30 Registration Required

Let your young artist dive into the colourful world of watercolour! In this fun, hands-on workshop, participants will learn simple watercolour techniques while creating a bright, splashy fish painting to take home. With plenty of swishy brushstrokes and creative exploration, it's the perfect introduction to painting for kids who love to make art. All supplies and instruction are included.

Karen Kesteloot is a local artist and professional arts educator with more than 30 years of experience. She has taught as a college professor, high school co-op employer, and education and summer camp director at PortPrep, where she helps students build confidence and creativity through art.

Sunset Fiber Art Workshop

Learn the art of Kinusaiga, a fabric-based technique where pieces are tucked into foam to create a textured design. In this two-hour workshop, participants will create a 5 x 7 sunset piece, complete with a frame to take home. Suitable for teens and adults. No experience needed.
